A portion of history has ‘a surfer’ labelled as a person with very little aspiration. Someone who is blinkered to the ocean and beach culture with an outlook that does not go beyond the horizon.

In our mind surfers are the opposite. We are at the forefront of disruption and in fact, have been here since the sport was invented. There can be no arguing that originally as a subculture ‘a surfer’ was perceived as a bit of a tear away who challenged society, likely with overzealous environmental views and someone who overindulged in smoking marijuana.

Fast forward to now and were we not just ahead of our time? The environment and sustainability is at the core of most global companies ‘brand ethos’ – regardless of whether they are doing good – with conversation and action based on safeguarding our planet burning strong. And is it not amusing that cannabis, with all its benefits, has now become a multi multi Billion dollar industry.

Creating through Covid

As it’s been lockdown, we’ve taken on a slightly larger role in helping Wavelength Media (Magazine) create it’s podcasts.

Firstly, we advised them how they could create the best pod in a tough situation. Starting with which Microphone is best for them and how to comfortably use the equipment; up to understanding all the avenue’s available to do online recording and post production.

Secondly, my studio is unavailable at the moment for external voice actors so I took to the mic and helped create the intro’s and outro’s to the pod! Hmm… smooth.

Add in some epic music from the library. Work hard on the post production of the audio to make it sound the best it can.

Finally, Mastering the complete audio file so it’s the correct volume for Spotify, Apple and all the other networks we have available to us now.

Successful Pod begun!
